The first part of the program is taking the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to determine an indidvidual's current capacity and help staff create an individualized learning plan. Group classes and one-on-one instruction in reading, math, and writing are offered for free. Behavioral assessment, planning, and training is available to adults and children over 3 with autism or a developmental delay or disability. Some cases might be paid for through the Dept of Mental Health, but private pay and insurance is also accepted. Programs offered include G.O.A.L.S. which provides opportunities for adults with developmental disabilties to practice life skills through community activities such as bowling, sporting events, dances, and community events. CSS also offers short term community living - a weekend respite program to develop life skills, one on one life skill mentoring, and a day program.
