Meet Webb City Junior High's Admin Team
MS. TAMARA PONCE
Principal
Before becoming Junior High Principal in 2021, Ms. Ponce served as Assistant Principal at Webb City High School from 2011-2021 and taught Social Studies at WCHS from 2003-2011. She has earned a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education, a Master's degree in United States History, a Master's degree in Educational Administration, and a Specialist degree in Advanced Leadership Studies from Pittsburg State University.
She has two children-one of whom graduated from WCHS in 2018. Ms. Ponce is passionate about serving her students and staff, and it is her mission to care for the individuals she works with so that they have the opportunity to realize their purpose and potential. Ms. Ponce is grateful to be a part of the WCJH team with the shared goal of preparing students for high school and beyond.
MR. MATT PEAK
Assistant Principal
This is Mr. Peaks’ 14th year in education and his first year in administration. He will be serving as Assistant Principal and as Athletic Director at Webb City Junior High. For the past 13 years, he taught social studies at Webb City High School. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Pittsburg State University and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Missouri Southern State University.
Mr. Peak is married to his wife, Krista, who is also an educator in Webb City, and is a proud father of two children—both of whom attend Webb City Schools. He is excited about the upcoming school year and looks forward to building relationships, supporting students, and working alongside the wonderful faculty and staff at Webb City Junior High.
MR. JON BISHOP
Assistant Principal
Mr. Bishop is entering his 34th year in education and his second year with the Webb City School District. He has taught grades 6- 8 for 17 years in Valley Center, Pittsburg, and Girard, all in Kansas. Mr. Bishop has 16 years of administrative experience as a high school principal, assistant principal, and activities director. Mr. Bishop received his Bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State University in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in School Leadership/Administration from Baker University.
He is married to his wife, Mary, and they have 3 children, Madelaine, Brandon, and William. Mr Bishop is excited to be joining the administrative team at Webb City Junior High School and Cardinal Nation.
