WCJH teacher Shannon Ellis sponsors a group of 22 students who are interested in technology. Mrs. Ellis has developed a project/inquiry based learning program for these students who love technology and desire to serve others. Student meet on a daily basis creating unique training sessions, based on a survey of need from faculty and staff, to present to peers and adults. During a recent Professional Development Day for the District, eLeaders assisted teachers with tech questions throughout the day. Then during breakout sessions (during Shannon’s session on eLeaders), they trained teachers on the use of Twitter, Tweetdeck, and the role of hashtags. Feedback was given through the hashtags #wcedtech and #eleaderswc14. Students also presented training on Edmodo, Quizlet, Prezi, Google Docs, and Google Drive. They look forward their next professional development opportunity, Feb. 14, 2014, at WCJH; where they will provide a half day in-service training for faculty and staff.
